RandomX is a mining algorithm protected against ASICs. The most popular cryptocurrency is Monero (XMR) that switched to this algorithm on block 1978433 at the end of fall 2019. Monero developers have performed multiple hard forks to eliminate the ASIC and FPGA miners from the network. The current version of the XMR algorithm is called “RandomX”. It is optimized for graphics cards and central processors. Its main feature is the random execution of different parts of the code. This allows RandomX to minimize ASIC efficiency and protect the network. As a result, ASIC manufacturers are discouraged from creating new models, as they simply wouldn’t work properly.
Default mining profit is calculated for 300 Nvidia 3070 GPUs with total hashrate: 324 Kh/s on RandomX
