Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 is a younger model of the new Nvidia GPU series. It was announced in January 2021 and released on February 25. This release is important, because the RTX 3060 is the first graphics card which hash rate drops when mining Ethereum.

Its hash rate drops by 50% and it’s intentional. The company was trying to drop demand on new RTX graphics cards among miners and make them more affordable for gamers. In the first minute the RTX 3060 gives out 41.5 MH/s, but right after that the hash rate drops to 24-26 MH/s. Experts say that the “anti-mining” algorithm is built into the GPU BIOS, so it’s not about drivers.

Everything has changed on March 14th when the miners have found the solution of GPU unlocking. The only thing which is required is a special Nvidia driver. Please pay attention that this driver increases only ETH (and other Dagger Hashimoto coins) hashrate. It will not increase the performance for other algorithms.

Overall, the graphics card features 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and the clock of 1410 MHz that reaches 1665 MHz in the Turbo Boost mode. Like other Nvidia graphics cards, the RTX 3060 is flexible in terms of mining algorithms, but it brings the most profit with Ethereum and Ravencoin.
