PearlHash is the proof-of-useful-work algorithm behind Pearl (PRL), a Layer-1 blockchain that launched its mainnet in April 2026. Instead of computing throwaway hashes, every block solves a large noisy matrix multiplication that the team calls NoisyGEMM: a miner runs the matrix math on a GPU, hashes the result into a commitment and attaches a zero-knowledge proof, so the network can verify the work cheaply on-chain. This turns mining into real AI-style compute with almost no overhead compared to a plain matrix multiply. PearlHash is Nvidia-only — community miners support consumer cards from the RTX 30-series upward (Ampere, Ada and Blackwell), while AMD Radeon and Intel Arc cannot mine it. Thanks to the tensor-core workload, modern cards reach hashrates measured in TH/s — for example an RTX 5090 delivers around 320 TH/s and an RTX 4090 around 230 TH/s.
